‘Totale Rehabilitatie’ door drie internationale toppers in de esthetische tandheelkunde: Francesca Vailati, Michel Magne and Brian LeSage

Ook dit jaar halen Dutch Academy of Esthetic Dentistry en Bohn Stafleu van Loghum internationale toppers in de esthetische tandheelkunde naar Nederland: Michel Magne, Francesca Vailati en Brian LeSage. Tijdens het 2-daagse programma ‘de Totale Rehabilitatie’ wordt volledige restauratie van het gebit bekeken vanuit verschillende gezichtspunten. Een unieke bijeenkomst die u als gewaardeerde collega niet mag missen!

Francesca Vailati, specialiste op het gebied van abrasie en bruxisme, laat zien hoe extreem afgesleten dentities weer kunnen worden opgebouwd. Tot in het kleinste detail zal zij ingaan op de restauratie. Combinaties van porselein en composiet zijn de ingrediënten voor herstel. Zij geeft aanwijzingen hoe verder verval voorkomen kan worden.
Brian LeSage, Hollywood prosthodontist specialist sinds 30 jaar, geeft een inzicht in de rehabilitatie van het totale gebit waarbij gebruik gemaakt wordt van de meest geavanceerde technieken voor een optimale esthetiek. Hij gaat in op de problemen bij de selectie van de vorm en kleur van de nieuwe dentitie en de occlusie concepten voor een optimale functie en behoud van de restauraties. Naast de grote lijnen gaat hij ook in op de kleine details zoals het cementeren en de voorbereiding en keuze van materialen en afdruktechnieken. Al met al een overzicht van het optimale herstel van het natuurlijke gebit.
Michel Magne, een grootmeester op het gebied van tandtechniek en met name porselein. Michel gaat tijdens dit congres in op de restauratie van het front en de premolaar molaar streek. Zijn aanpak samen met zijn broer Pascal ter herstel van het natuurlijke gebit zijn leidinggevend en vooruitstrevend. De vernieuwende technieken en methodes komen aan bod tijdens dit twee daagse congres.

De masterclass vindt plaats op vrijdag 25 november en zaterdag 26 november 2011 in Hotels van Oranje in Noordwijk aan Zee.

Kosten

De kosten voor deelname aan de 2-daagse masterclass bedragen € 1.200,- (incl. BTW) per persoon (inclusief koffie, thee, 2 x lunch, borrel, diner, overnachting en ontbijt). Zonder overnachting en ontbijt bedragen de kosten voor deelname € 1.080,- (incl. BTW) per persoon. Als lid van Dutch Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (DAED) ontvangt u een korting van € 100,- op de deelnamekosten.

Inschrijving

U kunt zich inschrijven via de knop "Inschrijven". Na inschrijving voor de masterclass ontvangt u een schriftelijke bevestiging en separaat een factuur. De factuur voor uw congresdeelname wordt niet eerder dan 1 augustus 2011 verstuurd. Ongeveer twee weken voorafgaand aan de bijeenkomst ontvangt u een routebeschrijving en verdere informatie. Registratie gebeurt op volgorde van binnenkomst. Deelnemers die niet meer geplaatst kunnen worden, ontvangen bericht.

Verhinderd?

Annulering dient uitsluitend schriftelijk te gebeuren. Bij annulering t/m 11 november 2011 wordt € 200,- administratiekosten in rekening gebracht bij een boeking met overnachting en € 80,- administratiekosten bij een boeking zonder overnachting. Bij annulering na 11 november 2011 kunnen wij geen restitutie verlenen. Vervanging van de deelnemer is uiteraard altijd mogelijk.

Fransesca Vailati (MD, DMD, MSc). After receiving her medical degree from the University of Bari (Italy) in 1996, Dr. Vailati left Europe to pursue her dental education in the United States. In 2000 she received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) and in 2003, she earned a certificate in Prosthodontics along with with a MSD degree from the University of Connecticut (USA). Returning to Europe in 2003, she joined the department of Fixed Prosthodontic headed by Prof. Urs Belser at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), where she remains as a senior lecturer. Dr. Vailati maintains a part-time private practice in Geneva, dedicated to esthetic restorative dentistry and prosthodontics. She has contributed several articles in the field of restorative dentistry and implantology and lectures on a variety of topics related to full mouth adhesive rehabilitation and implant prosthodontics.

Michel Magne is born in la Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland ) in 1958. He grew up and followed his primary education in Neuchâtel, where he certified as Dental Technician in 1979. He developed his technical education in fixed prosthodontics (ceramics) and esthetics until today. Between 1985 and 1991, he was consecutively directing two dental laboratories as Master Ceramist and he specialized in implant-supported work, complex oral rehabilitation and bonded porcelain restorations. From 1992 to 2004, he was the owner and director of Oral Design Center, Dental Laboratory in Montreux (Switzerland). In January 2005, he became Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry and Director of the Center of Dental Technology at the University of Southern California (USC, Los Angeles). Since January 2009 he is President and Director of 901 Michel Magne, Dental Laboratory and Dental Education in Los Angeles, (USA). He is visiting Faculty on several Universities and leading teaching Academies worldwide as well as he is in charge of numbers of esthetic courses and postgraduate education. He is author and co-author of articles on esthetic dentistry and is worldwide frequently invited to lecture and teach on these topics.

Dr. Brian P. LeSage graduated magna cum laude with the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society award from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1983. Over the past 27 years, he has actively integrated academic pursuits with a private practice, first in Washington D.C., and now in Beverly Hills, CA, in esthetic and reconstructive dentistry. His national, as well as international symposia lectures, offer the most current inroads in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. LeSage is one of 310 accredited cosmetic dentists in the worldwide American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In 1995, he was appointed a Consultant and Examiner for the AACD accreditation process. He was awarded the status of Fellow in the AACD, the 32nd. Presently, dr. LeSage is the Fellowship Chair and honored to be an American Dental Association seminar series speaker. He also has fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2008 he reached a milestone in his dental career by being honored to join the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. LeSage is the founder and director of the UCLA Esthetic Continuum Levels I and II, which teaches practicing dentists the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. He is also the Director of the Beverly Hills Institute of Dental Esthetics. Comprehensive care dentistry is the foundation of his teaching philosophy.

In a world of minimally invasive dentistry, how and why would you ever do full mouth rehabilitation? How does a comprehensive, esthetic dentist establish an accurate treatment plan? What information is crucial to aiding with esthetic and functional determinants? Once the patient has accepted our treatment plan, is there only one way or one end point? Consider the roles of occlusal equilibration, composite occlusal stability, prototypes and tissue modeling to set-up these sometimes overwhelming cases. Once the dentition is stable definitive restorations and maintenance will complete the multi-phase care. Cases will be shown on natural dentitions and implants. Several no-prep veneers will be shown to remind us of our ethical obligation of “doing no harm”. Trying it all together in a Southern California style……

Dental erosion is a frequently underestimated pathology that nowadays affects an increasing number of younger individuals. This lecture will briefly discuss the patients affected, and how they are treated according to the literature. Afterwards a controversial debate on why the conventional treatment should be avoided or at least postponed (crowns versus adhesive dentistry) will be presented. Finally a new concept of full mouth adhesive rehabilitation will be introduced. Despite the tendency for adhesive techniques to rather simplify the involved clinical and laboratory procedures, treatment of patients affected by severe dental erosion still remains a challenge. An innovative approach called the three step technique has been developed by Vailati. The three step technique is a structured approach to achieve a full mouth adhesive rehabilitation with the most predictable result, the minimal tooth preparation, and the highest level of patient acceptance.

Esthetics and function being equal concerns when restoring the anterior and posterior dentition. Communication between clinician, technologist and patient is extremely important prior starting any case. The first important key step is to exchange and define the knowledge and understanding of Esthetics (Beauty and Art). The global philosophy between clinician and technician should be similar to achieve ultimate esthetics. The improvement in populations oral health, as well as the growing concern of patients for dental esthetics, makes it very important to take the patient in charge, means to understand the desires and needs of the patient to be able to realize them. Taking the shade, doing a correct photo status and to do the diagnostic and evaluation of the situation with study models is another important step in the communication to satisfy the clinician, patient and technician. The fabrication of a mock up (template) or provisional restoration, to de- and reprogram the brain of the patient for the new situation in the mouth is also a fundamental key of success. The following evaluation of the provisional restoration after a couple of weeks is absolutely necessary to achieve ultimate esthetics with the definitive work.
